Creating Safe, Nurturing Homes for Children, and Young People

Therapeutic Care & Support

Our care model is firmly rooted in a relationally led, trauma-informed approach. Rather than simply managing behaviours, our team is trained to understand the distress, trauma, or unmet needs behind them. By using therapeutic principles, we build secure attachments that help children lower their hyper-vigilance, learn to trust adults again, and develop long-term emotional resilience.

Specialist Neurodiversity Focus

We offer bespoke, individualised care pathways for children and young people presenting with complex behavioural risks associated with neurodevelopmental conditions, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). Our environments and routines are carefully structured to cater to specific sensory, emotional, and communication profiles, ensuring every child feels safe and understood.

Safe, Homely Environments

We operate two high-specification, four-bedroom residential properties in Berkshire—Eleos House and Cura House. Intentionally chosen to avoid an institutional feel, our homes are fully furnished to a premium standard, featuring beautiful gardens and quiet surroundings. Located near excellent local shops, parks, and public transport, they offer the perfect balance of tranquility and community connection.

Our Approach

At Ellie’s Place, we believe that children cannot heal or progress until they feel completely safe. Our care model moves away from reactive parenting, focusing instead on a proactive, therapeutically informed approach tailored for children aged 5 to 18 with trauma, ADHD, and Autism.

Trauma-Informed Care: Early trauma can leave a child in a constant state of survival. Our team looks beyond challenging behaviours to understand the distress or unmet need behind them.

Secure Attachments: We build trust by acting as calm, predictable, and emotionally available parental figures.

The PACE Model: We interact using Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy to reduce hyper-vigilance.

Co-Regulation: During a crisis, our staff use low-arousal techniques and a calm presence to help children safely regulate their emotions.

Neurodiverse Specialists: Neurodivergent children experience the world with unique sensory and cognitive intensities. We adapt our environments to fit their needs, not the other way around.

Sensory Management: Our homes are designed to reduce sensory overload, offering quiet, calming spaces for downtime.

Structure & Predictability: We reduce anxiety by using clear visual schedules, structured transitions, and consistent daily routines.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS): We do not use punitive measures. Our behavioral strategies focus entirely on improving a child’s quality of life and communication.

Proactive Planning: Every child has a bespoke PBS plan identifying their specific triggers and de-escalation pathways.

Skill Building: We teach children alternative, safe ways to express frustration and communicate their needs effectively.

Core Pillars of the Provision

Trauma-Informed, Therapeutic Care: Rather than focusing purely on behaviour management, the teams use relationally led care models and attachment theory to understand the root distress and unmet needs behind a child’s actions.

  • High-Standard Residential Homes: The organisation operates premium, fully fitted four-bedroom properties designed to look and feel like warm, comfortable family homes rather than institutions. Their current locations include Eleos House and Cura House in Berkshire, which are intentionally situated in quiet neighbourhoods with strong community links, shops, parks, and public transport access.
  • Safer Recruitment & Expert Teams: The service maintains uncompromising standards by using strict Safer Recruitment frameworks (including enhanced DBS and rigorous vetting) to employ top-tier care professionals. Staff are comprehensively trained in positive behaviour support, de-escalation, and neurodiversity.
  • Essentially, it is designed to be a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where vulnerable young people can heal, lower their hyper-vigilance, and build long-term emotional resilience.

“We don’t just provide care, we build connections that last.”
